Toll roads in Bulgaria
In Bulgaria, all vehicles up to 3,5 t are required to have a valid e-vignette when driving on the national toll road network. This includes motorways and national roads that connect regions and border crossings.
The vignette obligation applies to both motorways and several main roads that form part of the national road network. Tolls are enforced electronically through license plate recognition and camera checks across the network.
If you are travelling by car in Bulgaria, your e-vignette must be valid before you enter any toll road.

Additional toll bridges in Bulgaria
Bulgaria charges separate tolls for two Danube River bridges that connect the country with Romania. These tolls are not included in the e-vignette and must be paid separately at the crossing.
Ruse – Giurgiu Bridge (Friendship Bridge): a toll of approximately €2 applies to passenger cars when leaving Bulgaria across this bridge.
Vidin – Calafat Bridge (New Europe Bridge or Danube Bridge 2): a toll is collected at the crossing for all vehicle categories.
Both bridges are major transit routes between Bulgaria and Romania. Tolls can be paid in cash (BGN or EUR) or by card at the toll booth.
